Why you should go
One of Europe’s most picturesque cities, Stockholm is spread out across 14 islands connected by more than 50 bridges. The Swedish capital is easy to get around on foot or by public transport, and its various districts each have their own unique vibes, making it the perfect place to explore.
When you should go
Spring and summer is an ideal time to visit Stockholm as it is when the city is at its warmest, and daylight hours are at their longest.
But if you enjoy the cosiness of a European city break, where you explore in the day before slipping into warm and welcoming bars and restaurants throughout the evening, then late autumn and winter are great choices.
Don’t miss
Gamla Stan: Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s Old Town and is where you’ll find some of the city’s most iconic shots. Some 3,000 people live in the Old Town, which is packed with cafés, restaurants, souvenir shops, studios, galleries and museum, and most of the buildings are from the 18th and 19th centuries. Also make sure to stop off at Stortorget - Gamla Stan’s public square - to snap some pics.
ABBA The Museum: The history and journey of one of Sweden’s most popular exports, ABBA, is immortalised at ABBA The Museum. Have fun as you make your way through the interactive exhibis where you can virtually try on ABBA’s costumes as well as sing, play and mix original music.
Oceanbus: Stockholm is known locally as “Beauty on Water,” and one of the best ways to get acquainted with the Swedish capital is on a city tour. However, Oceanbus does this with a difference, and you’ll get to experience Stockholm from both land and water on an amphibious bus! You’ll get to see many of the city’s greatest attractions whilst your guide tells fun and interesting stories along the way.
